KEMEA draws on human resources originating from:
- active-duty personnel of the Services and Agencies of the Ministry of Citizen Protection;
- experts and specialists in security matters, who either belong to public institutions, organisations or bodies or are private individuals; and
- highly reputable specialised researchers and expert scientists, whose fields of expertise are relevant to KEMEA’s objectives.
At present, KEMEA’s staff includes seconded active-duty officers and non-commissioned officers of the Hellenic Police, while the Centre also cooperates, under works contracts, with a wide range of scientific associates and experts.
The expertise of the Centre’s researchers spans a broad range of fields, including: Counter-Terrorism and the fight against Organised and Serious Crime, Border Management and Security, Crisis and Emergency Management, Civil Protection, Disaster Risk Management, Prevention of Radicalisation and Violent Extremism, Geoinformatics and Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Earth Observation Systems and Satellite Services, Information Systems Security and Cybersecurity, Digital Forensics, Telecommunications and Critical Communications, Ad Hoc Networks, Management of Hazardous Materials and Goods and CBRN threats, Critical Infrastructure Protection, Transport Security, Statistical Data Analysis, International and European Relations and Policies, Legal Affairs, Data Protection and Ethics, Social Sciences, Project Management and Communication, among others.
