Press Release INSPEC2T Project Stakeholders Advisory Group / External Experts Group Workshop in Vienna, Austria

 The presentations included topics related to Community Policing strategy, best practices, analysis, implementation, as well as the Ethical, Legal, and Privacy issues resulting and were delivered by speakers from Police authorities, the Academia, Experts on Community Policing from the EU, the US, and Brazil, as well as Consortium members. During the two-day event, many detailed discussions were conducted in analyzing several aspects of Community Policing with respect to the vision and scope of the INSPEC2T project. Having a pan-European vision, INSPEC2T was widely accepted by the meeting experts to be a challenging and most promising project with respect to its societal and technological approach, on citizens’ awareness and engagement, with respect to Community Policing.

The workshop was attended by the Austrian Federal Ministry of Interior’s officials, the Police President of Mannheim Police, Berlin Police Vice President, and officers from the Austrian and German Police respectively. Furthermore, the SAG/EEG Workshop was attended by the Chief of Citizen Protection and Judicial Police of the Municipal Guard of San Sebastian from Spain, the Chief Officer of Civil Police of Alagoas state from Brazil, the Core Group Leader of THE European Network of Law Enforcement Technology Services (ENLETS), and Police officers representing the Netherlands, U.K., and Greece.

Finally, with regards to INSPEC2T project’s initiative to develop synergies and actively cluster with relevant projects, the UNITY project coordinator of the West Yorkshire Police was invited and attended the SAG/EEG Workshop of INSPEC2T Project.

The next planned event for INSPEC2T is the second Stakeholders Advisory Group & External Experts Group Workshop, which will be hosted by the Lancashire Constabulary on the first week of April 2016 in U.K. (exact place and date tbc), focusing on the assessment of the early prototype of the INSPEC2T solution.
