KEMEA Member of the COLLaborative network on unmanned AeRIal Systems 2 (COLLARIS2)<\/u><\/strong><\/h5>\n

COLLARIS (COLLaborative network on unmanned AeRIal Systems) focuses on the use of UAS (e.g., drones) in the field of civil protection and disaster management. Building upon the results of COLLARIS, COLLARIS2 aims to continue, expand and further develop the already established international network of crisis management and civil protection practitioners, research institutions and public administration. The members of the network collect and transfer knowledge, exchange experiences, skills, good practices and information on operational procedures for the optimal use of drones in crisis management and rescue missions.<\/p>\n

To effectively promote the broader and more complex use of UAS, the project will:<\/p>\n

a) facilitate sharing of lessons learnt from the adoption of innovative solutions and their absorption into operational practices<\/p>\n

b) support the development of skills, knowledge and competences among people implementing them<\/p>\n

c) deliver knowledge and recommendations supporting the development and implementation of systemic solutions which represent enablers for effective use of UAV\/UAS, in particular related to air traffic management.<\/p>\n

COLLARIS2 is an EU funded research project<\/a> of 24-months duration started on 1\/1\/2025 and consisting of the following consortium core partners:<\/p>\n

Disaster Competence Network Austria<\/a> (DCNA), Center for Security Studies- Kentro Meleton Asfaleias<\/a> (KEMEA), Entente pour la for\u00eat M\u00e9diterran\u00e9enne<\/a> (VALABRE), University of Skovde<\/a> \u2013 Sweden – Hogskolan I Skovde (HS), Ministry of Interior \u2013 Cyprus, Netherlands Institute of Public Safety (NIPV)<\/a>, University of Cyprus<\/a><\/p>\n

KEMEA participates in almost all tasks of the project and more in particular leads the task of selecting and overviewing at least 12 drone use cases producing a Virtual \u201ebooklet\u201d to be published on Union Civil Protection Mechanism Knowledge Network (UCPM KN) platform<\/a>.<\/p>\n
