The IEEE WiMob conference is an international forum for the exchange of experience and knowledge among researchers and developers concerned with wireless and mobile technology. For nine years, the International IEEE WiMob conference has provided unique opportunities for researchers to interact, share new results, show live demonstrations, and discuss emerging directions in Wireless Communications, Mobile Networking and Ubiquitous Computing.<\/p>\n

The IEEE WiMob 2014 2nd International Workshop on Smart City and Ubiquitous Computing Applications (SCUCA 2014), was held in conjunction with the 10th IEEE International Conference on Wireless and Mobile Computing, Networking and Communications (IEEE WiMob 2014), in Larnaca, Cyprus, on 8th October, 2014 and actually hosted 3 parallel Symposia:<\/p>\n

1. Wireless Communications
2. Wireless Networking, Mobility and Nomadicity
3. Ubiquitous Computing, Services and Applications<\/p>\n

During SCUCA 2014 workshop, the use of new technologies in the areas of machine-to-machine (M2M) and mobile communications, Internet of Things (IoT) architectures, multimedia services, data management were examined on how they can contribute towards intelligent and sustainable urban environments. KEMEA participated in this event presenting its relevant activity in frame of EC funded research.<\/p>\n

DARIUS project and in particular the Wireless Telecommunication module of the generic solution for supporting ad hoc deployment of unmanned platforms in order to support SaR operations was represented during the IEEE WiMob 2014 by KEMEA.  A project flyer was distributed to the participants of the Conference.<\/p>\n

In context of the relevant brokerage event, several stakeholders  including Telecoms experts, and End Users from the EU, the US, Japan, and Turkey were informed concerning the DARIUS Comms regarding satellite uplinks and the WiMax technologies. <\/p>\n
