On June 30, 2012 the Intercultural Education Programme was successfully concluded. It consisted of a part of the action 3.2\/10 of the European Integration Fund and it was related to the professional training of 250 police officers and civil servant personnel currently serving in the Hellenic Police and interact with third-countries nationals. The Programme included 10 training sessions of 80 hours duration each, at the Country’s 8 decentralize administrations.<\/p>\n

Partners of the Programme were: ΚΕΜΕΑ, the Training Center of the Agricultural Bank of Greece “ATExcelixi”, as well as the Local Government Network “Efxini Poli”. More specifically, the training sessions took place in: Athens, Patras, Heraklion Crete, Rhodes, Larissa, Ioannina, Thessaloniki, Alexandroupolis. The training sessions  dealt with the following issues:<\/p>\n

  1. Basic Principles of Intercultural Relations. Examining the cultural profile of Third-Countries Nationals with whom Hellenic Police personnel deals with.<\/li>\n
  2. A presentation of the National and International regulations and mechanisms within the framework of Human Rights protection and respect.<\/li>\n
  3. Up-to-date techniques development regarding the amelioration of the issues’ management level concerning Thrid-Countries Nationals, through know-how transition from other European countries’ officials working on the specific field.<\/li>\n
  4. Consultation and approach methods’ development reagrding Thrid-Countries Nationals.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    ΚΕΜΕΑ had the scientific diligence of the trainning material – handbook, the preparation – training of the Programme’s trainers, and the realization of the Training Sessions.<\/p>\n

    Finaly, 3 workshops took place, within the framework of this Programme, with all of the Programme’s stakeholders (organizations, immigrant networks, Public Services, NGOs etc.) participating. In addition to that, 2 main Conferences (one at the begining and one with conclusion at the end of the Programme) were conducted, along with the 8 one-day events and press releases  publshed.
